Value-add Solutions from DataCore SANvantage Authorized Partners
DataCore makes it easy to obtain SANsymphony software from the network of SANvantage authorized and trained value-added solution providers that you are already comfortable buying products and services from. Feel free to contact a solution provider from the Worldwide Solutions Provider list or contact the DataCore representative in your vicinity who will help you choose the right supplier based on your criteria.
There are typically two approaches you can take:
- Look for a basic or full featured packaged solution above that combines SANsymphony software with the value-added solution provider's server hardware, disk subsystems and storage network components ready to roll into your environment.
- Alternatively, minimize hardware acquisitions by having the value-add solution provider install SANsymphony software on off-the-shelf servers, blades or virtual machines earmarked to manage the network storage assets you have in place.
In either case, we suggest you take advantage of DataCore-authorized partners to ensure the quickest and most successful transition to a consolidated and automated storage management practice.
Please look for Sales Contacts under About DataCore or contact us at info@datacore.com for personal sales assistance.
Note. You may find some proprietary hardware manufacturers hesitant to promote DataCore products. This is to be expected since SANsymphony naturally reduces hardware vendor lock-in and often eliminates the urgency to buy additional disk capacity.
Feature Packed Bundles
A single server DataCore SAN is value-packed and can thin provision storage capacity, create storage domains, control Quality of Service (QoS), migrate data via SANmotion, accelerate storage performance, and create high-speed snapshots for fast disk backup and recovery. SANsymphony also supports both fibre channel and iSCSI connectivity, Scalable N+1 high-availablity configurations and 'Hot Swap' Thin Provisioning storage pools. For high-availability (failback/failover) business continuity and disaster recovery solutions, users would buy two or more (N+1) feature-packed bundles. For remote site disaster recovery, users can buy an add-on feature-packed bundle for the remote site or for a new installation, users would typically buy two or more for the primary location and one or more for the remote site. Either approach provides cost effective data protection and improves business uptime for the many systems or VMs utilizing the DataCore powered SAN.
Feature Highlights
- Fibre Channel connectivity & iSCSI support for FC SAN, IP networks and LAN based connectivity, Storage Domains, N+1 Scalability, SANmotion and IO Performance Acceleration and caching software is included in the above packaged bundles.
- Auto Thin Provisioning presents very large virtual volumes to applications, but only allocates disk blocks dynamically on writes as the application consumes it. This "just-in-time" storage allocation maximizes disk space utilization and enhances producticity through automation.
- Snapshot provides point-in-time copies of volumes used in backups, testing and other applications.
- Asynchronous IP Mirroring adds the ability to mirror storage to remote disaster recovery sites over IP connections.
- Synchronous Network Mirroring (HA). Deploy multiple SANsymphony-equipped storage domain servers to enable the Auto Failover FailBack software for business continuity, and dramatically boost your ability to guard against outages and data loss by keeping redundant copies of data on separate disk drives - you can even spread the drives across the room, between floors, or between buildings!
DataCore Hardware Independent and Portable Storage Virtualization Solutions
DataCore solutions are hardware independent and portable allowing them to run on your choice of physical or virtual hardware: hardware servers, blade servers or VMs. Users can mix-and-match hardware or VM based storage servers in their deployments. All major VM vendors are supported – VMware, Oracle, Citrix Xenserver, Sun, Virtual Iron, and Microsoft. DataCore not only runs on these VM environments, but the virtual storage from the DataCore SAN can be consolidated and served to MacOS, Netware, Linux, and the many flavors of UNIX and Microsoft – providing optimum storage resource utilization.
