The town of Fishers is a fast growing suburb of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Thane Morgan, director of information technology for the town of Fishers, had decided from the start to go with virtualization. He first looked at hardware solutions and solutions like LeftHand NetWorks but did not like being locked into the vendor’s hardware requirements. "The future requires flexibility. Being dependent on their control of hardware drives my cost up and more importantly reduces my flexibility," he said. So Morgan bought SANmelody software from DataCore. "With the alternatives, for the same amount of money, I would have had to halve the capacity and be bound to the vendor’s hardware."
